I downloaded some police scanner apps (I need to practice listening to and being able to understand their mumble, static, and jibberish), and one of them has a helpful list of police ten codes so you’ll know what they’re talking about. Only over half of them are wrong. So actually, you’re going to be really fucking confused. You’re going to think there’s a fight in progress when someone actually just said the equivalent of negative. You’ll confuse bomb threats and bank alarms with fatalities and motorists being assisted. AND MANY MORE! Given that ten codes aren’t standardized, I wonder if this list actually applies correctly to ANY police department.
